Our History

Diversified CPC was originally founded as the Chemical Products Company, this organization began by supplying alcohol and general chemicals to industry pioneers who would eventually influence the future of the aerosol business. As the demand for better propellants increased, Diversified CPC grew to become the leading supplier of propellants and related products to the aerosol industry.

The hydrocarbon propellant division began in 1964 with a single manufacturing facility in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and a distribution center in Frankfort, Illinois. In 1976, the facility in Anaheim, California, was purchased and modified to handle the manufacture of hydrocarbon products.

Diversified CPC International's corporate headquarters and flagship manufacturing facility were built in Channahon, Illinois in 1982. In 1985, Diversified CPC and Klockner and CO. partnered in a joint venture to manufacture hydrocarbon aerosol propellant for Western Europe. In 1988, the Channahon, Illinois facility completed extensive modernization, centering on the installation of an exclusive hydrogenation process and on-line quality control sampling devices. Equipment to expand the company's raw material base, additional storage tanks, vapor recovery unit, and in-line blending capabilities were also added.

Further steps toward becoming a world leader were achieved In 1998 as Diversified CPC and CCL Custom Manufacturing partnered with the Shangai Wai Gao Qiao Free Trade Zone Xin Development Company to develop a state of the art propellant production and contract packaging facility in the Yang Yuan Town Pudong New Area, Shanghai, PRC.

A direct pipeline connection was also completed in 1998 with the 2nd largest US refinery thus ensuring uninterrupted raw material supply.

A two tower fractionation system was added in 2004, designed to separate various fractions of LP gas and to produce 2.5 High Purity Hydrocarbons (99.5%).

Diversified CPC continues our expansion with the construction of additional fractionation capabilities with the addition of three more distillation towers designed to produce 4.0 Ultra High Purity Hydrocarbons (99.99%).

Additional production facilities are located in Sparta, New Jersey, Anaheim, California, and Petal, Mississippi. Advanced distribution terminals include Homestead, Florida, serving the Caribbean and Ajax, Ontario, serving Canada.

In April 2012, Diversified CPC, International Inc. announced the acquisition of Pure Chem Separation, L.P. (PCS). The new entity will be known as Diversified Pure Chem, LLC.  This acquisition expands DCPC's reach into the fluorocarbon refrigerant markets, with a focus on recycle and reuse.
